Quiet. Official Vietnam entry pages that opened still show the same August 2023 policy: an electronic visa (e-visa, labeled EV) for citizens of all countries and territories, valid for up to 90 days with single or multiple entry, and a unilateral visa exemption of up to 45 days for citizens of 13 named countries (Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Russia, Japan, Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Belarus). There is no dedicated retirement visa on those pages. No this-week rewrite found for Temporary Residence Card (TRC) wording, work permits, or health/entry checks.

The national e-visa portals (evisa.gov.vn and the Immigration Department sites) did not yield a readable this-week announcement from this harvest — one is a shell page, others errored — so there is no verified new rule to report. Not advice. That is what those pages say.

State Bank of Vietnam daily reference, as reported the same day by Vietnam News Agency: 25,610 dong per US dollar on Friday 28 August, up from 25,600 the Friday before. A dollar buys a bit more dong than last week. The State Bank’s own rate page was blocked from this harvest, so the live table was not quoted directly.
